Brainspotting Therapy

Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that helps people process and release emotional trauma, stress, and unresolved experiences stored in the brain and body. It works on the principle that where you focus your gaze can access deeper areas of the brain involved in emotional processing, particularly the limbic system and subcortical regions where trauma and strong emotional memories are stored. By identifying specific “brainspots,” a therapist can help the brain process these experiences more efficiently, bypassing the usual barriers that keep memories and emotions stuck.

During a Brainspotting session, a therapist guides the client to focus on a particular point in their visual field while tuning into bodily sensations and emotional responses. This process activates the brain’s natural self-regulation and neural integration systems, allowing unresolved experiences to be processed and released safely. Clients often notice relief, emotional clarity, and a greater sense of balance, making Brainspotting an effective approach for trauma, anxiety, grief, and other mental health challenges.
